A vacuum feeder is a dust-free closed pipeline conveying equipment that uses vacuum suction to transport powder and granular materials. A vacuum feeder is mainly used for conveying powder and granular materials and is not suitable for conveying materials that are too wet, too sticky, or too heavy.
How to select the vacuum feeder?
Not all materials can be transported by vacuum. To determine the transportability of materials, Jinjiashun Machinery teaches you to measure and analyze some characteristics of materials: stacking density, particle factor, stacking angle, humidity sensitivity, electrostatic constant, explosion hazard, toxicity, and corrosivity.
1. Bulk density of material: refers to the weight of a unit volume of material in a loose state. Because particles or powders contain substances and air, the bulk density will change according to the different stacking forms, so it is necessary to measure the bulk density in the actual state.
2. Particle factor: refers to weight, particle size distribution, shape, hardness, etc. The fluidity of particles is the key factor that affects the fluidity of materials and the design of conveying system;
3. Stacking angle: when judging the transportability of each material, the fluidity of the material is one of the important parameters, which is usually expressed by the stacking angle, that is, the angle between the cone and the horizontal surface of the cone formed after the material is dumped from a high place. The smaller the angle, the better the liquidity, and vice versa. However, for some special materials, the adjustment angle cannot accurately represent fluidity.
4. Humidity sensitivity: all materials are hygroscopic. Materials sensitive to moisture may change the fluidity due to moisture absorption and caking, or even stick to the pipe wall or filter surface, causing pipe or filter blockage.
5. Explosion hazard: When the powder is mixed with air and reaches a critical concentration, it will explode once there is a spark. It is difficult to control the concentration of materials during transportation, which can be controlled as oxygen and spark. Inert gas is used to protect and isolate oxygen. Sparks can be avoided by eliminating static electricity, so as to control risks.
6. Toxic: toxic leakage will cause environmental pollution and personal injury, so reliable technology and equipment must be used to avoid it during transportation. A vacuum feeder is a safe choice because the pressure inside the transport system is lower than atmospheric pressure, so there will be no leakage. In addition, the gas discharged from the transportation system must be treated reasonably harmless and discharged up to standard;
7. Corrosivity: Some powders are highly corrosive, so it is necessary to select appropriate materials to manufacture a vacuum feeders.
