(1) Shape of sieve plate and sieve hole
The sieve size is more than 25 mm. Generally, perforated or drilled sieve plates are used. The holes are mostly round holes and arranged in a diamond shape. The woven screen can be used below 25 mm, and the woven screen is a square hole. The 25 mm sieve hole can be a perforated sieve plate or woven sieve. The woven sieve shall prevent the sieve bar from sliding and the sieve hole from deforming. For sieves, less than 1 mm (including desilting, dehydration, and disintermediation), the slotted sieve plate (threaded or welded) or nylon sieve can be used if the slotted sieve plate is less than 0.5 mm. It is very important that the screen plate or screen itself be tightened and fastened with the screen box. It can not only prolong the life of the screen plate, screen mesh, and screen box, improve screening efficiency, but also reduce noise.
Sieve plates above 50 mm, are often made of steel or light rail. In particular, it is more appropriate to use the old rail for the fixed screen. The rod-shaped screen bars are made into wedge-shaped ones, which are wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, so as to facilitate the passage of materials.
The round sieve hole is marked with the size of the sieve hole by the diameter of the circle, which can ensure that the size of the sieve hole is smaller than the size of the sieve hole. The products under the sieve basically do not contain the size of a sieve hole larger than the size of the sieve hole, but the diagonal line of the sky-like is 1.414 times the side length. Some data believe that the maximum particle passing through the square hole is equal to 1.23 times the maximum particle size passing through the round hole. The short side of the rectangular sieve hole is the nominal size of the sieve hole. In this case, the particle size exceeding the size of the sieve hole, especially the flat particles, will pass through the sieve along the long side of the sieve hole. There are also some irregularly shaped holes, such as some woven screens. The mesh size of the probability sieve is often larger than the separation size, and the projection of the mesh size is used for calculation. In any case, the particle size of screened products is a measure of particle size.
(2) Length and width of screen surface
The width of the screen surface determines the processing capacity of the screening machine; The length of the screen surface determines the screening efficiency of the screening machine. The longer the screen surface is, the longer the material passes through the screening, and the more thorough the screening is. However, the longer the screen surface is, the less significant the improvement of the screening efficiency is, and only unnecessarily lengthens the size of the screening machine.
The existing screening machines in China have a screen surface length of 3.5~4 m for coarse particles, 5.5~5.6 m for medium and fine particles, and 6.5 m for dehydration and disintermediation.

(3) Inclination of screen surface
The inclination of the screen surface affects the moving speed of the material on the screen. Large inclination, fast material movement, and high processing capacity. The inclination of the screen surface and the structure of the screen is related to the quality requirements of the screened products. Generally, the screen hole is more than 50 mm, and the circular motion screening machine is used for pre-screening, such as an inertial vibrating screen and self-centering vibrating screen, with an inclination of 15 °~20 °. Straight-line moving screening machines are generally installed horizontally, with an inclination of zero degrees. The material moves on the screen surface and depends on the projection force of the material on the screen surface. This kind of screening machine is generally used for coal dehydration, desliming, and media removal.
(4) Amplitude and frequency
Amplitude refers to half of the screen box travel, and frequency refers to the number of reciprocating vibrations of the screen box. In addition to the inclination angle of the screen surface, the screen box must have enough speed to make the material on the screen surface move forward. According to the experimental study, the acceleration of the screen box of the coal vibrating screen is not more than 70~80 m/s2, the amplitude is about 2~5 mm, and the rotational speed is 800~1500 r/min.
In order to measure the amplitude of the linear motion screen, a triangle measuring the amplitude is generally drawn on the screen edge of the linear vibration screen, and a group of parallel lines parallel to the baseline is drawn on the measuring triangle, on which a scale is marked to indicate the corresponding cutting width of the triangle. When the screen box vibrates and people stay in sight, they will see two triangles, and the cross-section width of the bevel is the stroke of the screening machine (twice the amplitude).
(5) Projection angle
The projection angle is the angle formed by the motion direction of the screen box and the screen surface. If the projection angle is large, it is beneficial for the material to pass through the screen, but the treatment capacity is small. The linear motion screen mainly drives the material forward by the throwing action and makes the fine particles pass through the screen. The projection angle of linear motion screens is generally between 30 ° and 55 °, and 45 ° is adopted in China. The circular motion screen also has a projection function, but its projection angle is not fixed and is related to the frequency and amplitude of the screen.
(6) Processing capacity
The processing capacity (per unit area or per unit width) is greatly increased, which seriously affects the screening efficiency, and increases the number of particles on the sieve that are smaller than the sieve size.
