Among them, the first two kinds of moisture has little effect on the screening process of the linear screening machine, and the latter is the external moisture of the material. For example, when the moisture content of bituminous coal reaches 6%, the screening overshoot can no longer be performed. Although the lignite contains up to 45% moisture, the screening process can still be carried out. The reason is the low external moisture content of lignite.

When the same material is screened with different holes, the influence of water on the screening efficiency is different. The larger the sieve, the less the effect of moisture. Because the larger sieve allows fine particles with higher water content to pass through the sieve quickly, the water content on the sieve is greatly reduced, reducing the influence of water on the screening process. Therefore, when dealing with materials with high water content, screening efficiency can be improved by appropriately increasing the size of the screen.
 


When the sieve size is small, the effect of moisture on the screening efficiency is particularly prominent. This is because the external moisture of the material causes the particles to stick to each other, attaching to larger particles and causing mesh clogging. In addition, the water attached to the sieve wire will form a water film under the action of surface tension over the sieve. These conditions interfere with the material on the screen surface according to the size of the stratification and screening of fine material, seriously affect the screening efficiency.

But when the water content of the material exceeds a certain range, that is, when the wet screen conditions are met, the fluidity of the particles will be improved, and the screen will be easier. With the increase of material moisture, screening efficiency decreased sharply. When the water content of the material increases to a certain extent, the activity of the particles is enhanced, and the screening efficiency is improved.
